MEET THE TEAM

ALISTAIR MORRISON

HEAD GREENKEEPER

This natural, beautiful golf course is kept in wonderful condition but this isn’t achieved by a team of greenkeepers; it is one ambitious guy, Alistair Morrison. Born and bred in Durness, there are few in the world as proud of this piece of land as he is. Having spent some summer holidays during his school years working on the course, Alistair applied for an apprenticeship elsewhere to get a trade and move into the workforce. Alistair gained his apprenticeship at Brora Golf Club and he would be the first to tell you he benefitted greatly from the mentoring received from Brora Head Greenkeeper James MacBeath. In April 2015 Alistair moved back to Durness and started working at the club and is the first person with formal training to look after this fairly new course. In 2017 Alistair was awarded with the BIGGA Young Greenkeeper of The Year Award.
